I was just reading a new product brought
out by Peter Spaepen called Nanosense
when I came across something which I
hadn’t thought about and goes against
a lot of what I have done successfully
in the past.

However, the more that I thought about
it, the more that it resonated.

First, a quick explanation of how Adsense works
with keyword pricing. Advertisers pay
different amounts for different keyword
phrases. It depends on a number of factors,
but the main was is how much competition
there is amongst advertisers to rank for
that keyword phrase.

Therefore, what you want to do is to build
websites which target certain keyword phrases
which are higher paying.

Please note, that this is a general explanation,
and no-one really knows (apart from google)
exactly how Google itself works. However,
in my experience, there is an extremely
strong correlation in how much advertisers
are bidding for keywords and how much you
are ultimately paid as an Adsense publisher.

Anyhow, through no fault of your own, it is
often the case that the visitors you receive
to your website have arrived there using
search engine keywords that are lower in
value and therefore you are not paid as
much per click as if they had arrived looking
for content with higher valued keywords.

Stick with me here….

Generally, if your site is ranked for
a particular keyword, it is because the
content on your site is optimised for
that keyword.

Let me give you an example of two keyword
phrases which comes directly from the Google
Keyword Tool:

For the keyword “glow mineral makeup”,
advertisers are paying around 5 cents
per click. Whereas, for “glo mineral makeup”,
advertisers are paying $2.38 per click.

Although nothing is for sure when it comes
to Google and their algorithms, it is likely
that you would earn much more per click as
an AdSense publisher if your page was optimised
for the second keyword phrase rather than the
first.

However, it could be the case that there is
lower competition for the cheaper keyword
phrase and therefore you are able to get much
more traffic to a page optimised for that
keyword phrase.

What is clear from the above example, is that
1 click from the higher paying keyword phrase
would pay you more than 40 clicks from the lower
keyword phrase.

You can try messing about with the on page
optimisation for your page, however in my
experience you will probably end up reducing
the traffic and even then, not getting the
‘right’ traffic to your new page as it will
be harder to rank for that keyword phrase.

What Peter suggests therefore, is to remove
your Adsense from your page, but instead, the
call for action on that page to be to go to
a second page which is optimised for the more
expensive keyword phrase and therefore showing
the more expensive Adsense ads.

Your click through rate on the first page
showing the cheaper page will go down to zero as
there is no longer an ad there.

However, the likelihood is that many of your
visitors will go to the second page and therefore
click on your more expensive ad and ultimately
making you more money than before.

It is a bit like arbitrage, but done in a totally
whitehat way which I assume will NOT get your
account banned as you are offering the visitor
the experience which they are after.

Adsense has openly said that they don’t like
arbitrage (using low paying keywords to attract
visitors to a page which is then optimised for
higher paying keywords) and it is fairly easy
to understand why. Google relies on offering
their users a positive experience and arbitrage
can reduce that.

However, when you offer the initial page to a
user, they are receiving the information which
they are after, so it would seem that this is
not a problem.

Not only that, but you are encouraging the visitor
to stick on your page for longer than they normally
would which Google sees as a good thing.

What I have described above, is just one way
which you can restructure your website pages
in order to increase the revenue which you
will receive.

Credit goes to Peter for the initial idea, but
I hope that you also enjoyed my extension of his
idea.

While this technique was developed as a direct
which Peter describes at the following URL which
is the brilliance. You can download your free report

Social Proof and Scarcity are two of the most powerful elements that can be used in marketing.

Especially on the internet, they can be used extremely effectively and you can even change from one to the other fairly quickly.

If you really want to know the meat about them then you should read almost anything by Robert Cialdini. However, my definitions in this context are:

Scarcity – encouraging people to buy because if they don’t then they will miss out as there are only a limited number.

Social Proof - other people are doing something so you should be also.

If you are selling (almost) anything online either as an affiliate or as a product owner then you should think how you can inject these two elements into your marketing.

Here are some examples:

Scarcity:

- only 47 left
- going up at midnight tonight
- special bonus for the next 30 customers

Social Proof:

- we have already sold 2,000 copies
- here is what our previous customers say
- successful marketers buy our product

The way that I like to think of social proof is:

“This is what the cool kids are doing…”

——————————
A word of warning though…
——————————

Both Social Proof and Scarcity are easy ways to increse your sales as they strongly encourage people to take action. I have no doubt that if you used effectively you will see revenue going up by 2 or 3 times (I do).

However, always be honest otherwise you WILL be found out. And apart from that, not being honest is bad for your karma and ultimately your bottom line.

With digital products, it is sometimes harder to manufacture scarcity for example. You need to have a pretty good ‘reason why’ that you are only going to sell 300 of a product. Unlike physical goods, stock is usually unlimited.

Here are a few ways that I have used effectively in the past to get over this:

1. On a PLR or a resell rights product you can have a very good reason for limiting sales. That is to lower the competition for the people that do buy. One thing to be aware of here though, is that you don’t want to set yourself a limit of less than you are likely to sell in the first week.

2. Rather than use the scarcity ploy on the product itself, use it on the bonus for the product. Eg. I want to reward fast-movers and therefore they will also get as a bonus x,y and z.

3. Increase the value of your product by explaining that the techniques within it are so powerful that you don’t want too many people to use them otherwise it will decrease the effectiveness.

If you are confident enough of your market then you can just use the ‘because’ option.

eg. I am limiting the number of copies because I want to…

This is pretty much what Frank Kern and some of the other big boys do and it works for them even on high-ticket items.

I have been thinking a lot about these two factors because of the latest PLR package that I released. I limited the number of sales to just 75 for exactly the reason given above and the customers who have purchased so far really appreciate the lesser competition.

Although I will probably sell less copies than I usually do (generally between 100 and 150), they are selling far faster and take much less marketing efforts on my side.

So, I win because I have to do less work.

My customers win because they are purchasing a quality resell package and have 50% of the competition that they usuall would.

To see my latest package and how I am using scarcity effectively, go to:

http://www.killerlinknetwork.com/indexspecial.asp

(There’s also a discount there for you.)

I happened to be reading a thread on the Warrior’s Forumand came across someone called Charles Jahren. The price was very reasonable and he promised a fast turnaround time so didn’t have a lot to lose.

The videos he created were extremely professional and he (almost) couldn’t do enough to make sure that I was happy. 48 hours from start to finish, I had the required end-product.

If you want videos for a squeeze page, salespage or for just about any other reason, then I strongly advise you to get in touch with him at http://www.SellMoreWithVideos.com

If you let him know that I sent you, that would be great, but more a case of I want him to be rewarded as he just did a great job for me.

The following was originally written as an email, but never sent out as I decided at the last minute to change my email totally. Usually, I do not do affiliate promos on this blog as I like to keep it unbiased. Ultimately, I decided to publish it on my blog as I felt that you would find it useful and it is very unpushy.

I was contacted a few weeks ago by someone called Joel who I had never heard of before. What was not unusual was receiving an e-mail asking me if I would promote his product. Unfortunately the majority of the time I have to say no because otherwise I would be sending out 10 to 20 e-mails a day and also because the quality is just not high enough. However, I realized that there was something different about Joel and his product which was worth me taking a look at.

Here is something that you should take note of if you ever want someone to promote your product:

The way that this JV proposal was offered really made itself stand out because of how professional everything was. Not only was there a special JV page, but he had created a special JV page especially for me. I imagine that he must have done this for 50 to 100 other potential JV partners as well. Not only that, but all of the information was on the page I needed and I didn’t actually have to ask him any questions about his product because it was all there including personal login details.

I had a very quick look at his product, but to be honest as it involved a lot of video I didn’t have the time there and then to go through with it. In fact, there are over five hours worth of video!

Because I had liked what I had seen initially when I next had some spare time I went back to the videos.

As a side note, I have just invested in some software called enounce which you really must take a look at if you look at videos online but like me you get impatient because of their sloq speed.

Anyways, once I went through Joel’s course I was utterly invigorated.

You may have received advice when you first started with adSense about how to make money. This was to create one site which makes one dollar a day and once you achieve that goal do it again and also make a dollar a day from that site and keep on going to getup to a sizable amount. This worked extremely well when Adsense paid extremely well. Now there are a lot of other factors which come so it doesn’t always work so well. What Joel has done is take this idea and apply it to niche sites. His shtick is to build a niche site and to make three dollars a day from it. Once you have one of these you should then ramp it up. At first it will probably take you a day or two days even to create one of these websites. However Joel says that it now takes him between half an hour and an hour to create one of these websites. He actually has one team in the Philippines and one timing India is creating these websites. He now has over 750 off these sites making him an average of three dollars each day. If you do the math you will see that that is nearly $1 million a year of passive income once set up.

What really impressed me about Joel’s course was the fact that he didn’t assume that you knew anything. But unlike other courses which really are aimed right at the beginning he did separate videos which show the newbie marketer how to do the more simple thing without annoying the more advanced marketer who already knows these things. This is why I would say that this course is suitable both for the newbie marketer and also the advanced marketer as well. In style it very much reminded me of Steve as in Tim and Steve from niche blueprint and commission blueprint. I mentioned this to Joel and he laughed at if someone else had said this to him also. Perhaps he is even trying to imitate them. Whatever – he does it extremely successfully and is able to deliver an excellent course.

It is difficult for me to advise whether this is for you or not however if you do like to get your hands dirty and are looking to create a passive income on a daily basis you would be well advised to take a look at this. The quality is extremely high and his tactics are easily able to be duplicated. Another thing I liked in particular was how step by step it is.

If you do decide to invest in this course I would strongly advise you to first sit through all of the videos. There are about five hours, so I would also advise you to use enounce if your time is at a premium. Once you watch through all the videos what you should then do is watch them again and copy what you does at each stage in order to build your first site. Once you have built a site even if you’ve never built a site on your own before then you will easily be able to get the next one up.

You are probably expecting this to be a high ticket costs, but if you go to: http://www.clarifywithben.com/recommends/msf

You will see that it is actually a very low priced course compared to other courses of similar quality.

Luckily Joel Comm isn’t and he agreed to do an interview with me about how to use it effectively for marketing and what mistakes not to make under any circumstances.

If you are working online, then you must listen to this. Nothing to sell, just solid content.

- how a fart machine and an iPod made Joel lots of money
- what happened to the beard and who the most important person in his life is (not me)

If you have been dead the last few weeks, then you may not have heard about the new product from Stomper called F5. They did a launch a few weeks ago with great prelaunch videos and great proof that their product works.

Well, their product worked, but seems that their launch didn’t work very well as they quickly took it off the market and relaunched it again yesterday with a new salesletter and a new installment plan.

With the power of Stomper behind any product and all of their ’guru’ friends to help push it, the original salesletter must have converted extremely badly in order for them to have to pull it.

At $2.5k a pop, you don’t have to sell many in order to arrive in profit even after paying Lemberg and the affiliates their cut. But obviously something went wrong (very) – although I may be wrong and have misjudged the whole thing…no insider info here.

There is actually something really sad about the whole thing though… it’s probably one of the best products that I have ever seen.

I have had access to the whole product as well as being sent the first two parts (so far) in the mail and it is beautiful in every way.

- The box is beautiful (think Formula One beautiful)
- The material is presented beautifully

and (perhaps) most important of all the content itself is top notch. I haven’t been through the whole course yet, but have no doubt that it will help me a huge amount in my business and the small changes that I have made so far have already made me money.

I’ve spoke before about how few products produce results that last and this is definitely one of them that will see great results and success.

So, why am I not promoting and why haven’t I previously?

In my opinion, this product is not for everyone. In fact according to a previous survey that I did for my list, it is not suitable for over 70% of my list.

If you are making over $3,000 a month online and have your own product then you should literally sell anything that you have in order to purchase this product. You will never regret it and will probably increase your profit by many times within the next few months. Don’t think that I have ever said this before, but it is worth putting it on the credit card or borrowing the money in this particular case because unless there is some kind of world disaster, you will get the money back extremely quickly.

However, if you are nowhere near the $3k mark or you don’t have your own product then you should hang on to your money for now as the benefit contained within it simply isn’t worth it for you, the price that they are asking.

So, they have done 2 very interesting things in their relaunch:

- added an extra module showing you how to create your own product
- introduced a payment scheme where you can get started for less than $200

Will this turn around sales for them, and make it a huge hit which we have come to know and love from Stomper?

Probably, but I still stand by my advice above.

As I said previously, this is not a product which I am actively promoting, but if you do want to purchase or see the salesletter then leave a comment below and I will get you my link. No official bonuses, but will send you some money or some love or something like that. In fact, let me know what would make you buy through my link in your comment and I’ll see what I can do

Keeping it real in an unreal world,

Hmm. I feel a rant coming on….

I hope that it’s educational rather than just ranting for rants sake.

But something really has been bothering me recently so I feel it is about time to let off a bit of steam.

Although it probably applies in most niches, in this particular case it is applying to the Internet Marketing niche as this is the place where it is really starting to bother me.

Let me start by saying that in no way do I think that I am one of the biggest affiliate marketers in the niche, but as I have made a consistent monthly 5 figures in sales as an affiliate for the last few years, I am able to help even the biggest marketers shift some product.

So, what’s my point?

That people want me to promote their product, but on the other hand show total disregard for any common sense when asking me to.

I really wish that I could name names on this post as a few of them are some of the biggest, but feel it probably wouldn’t be ‘sensible’ of me.

———————————————————
Case Study 1:

Subject: Can you help me with this?

I just launched my new product and could use your help getting it in front of as many eyeballs as possible.

[The email goes on to give other details]

I’d love to have you on board and, of course, will return the favor when the time comes.

Thanks!

Affiliate X
———————————————————

Although we have exchanged emails here and there we have never promoted each other’s products. In fact, when I asked him to help me out in my last launch, I never got a reply
(from the same email which he sent this).

———————————————————
Case Study 2:

Subject: Hey Ben…

hey man, just wanted to let you know about my launch on
MM/DD/YYYY

let me know if you wanna know more details and if you’re open that day?

Affiliate Y
———————————————————

So although I have promoted about 6 of this guys products in the past, he has never promoted me even though he had promised to promote my last launch.

———————————————————
Case Study 3:

Subject: Re. [Personal From Ben Shaffer] (replied to an email that I had sent him in July!)

Hey man – I just had a quick question. As you know my product launch ends monday at midnight.

Was curious if I could bribe you into 1 last email?

[Email gives other details of the launch]

Anyway, let me know if you can slip one in.

[Email gives other details of the launch]

Thanks again
Affiliate Z
———————————————————

This was a ‘personal’ email from one of the biggest players in the industry. Unfortunately, even though I have supported him in a big way in the past and made him a lot of money, he also refrained from answering any of my previous personal requests (apart from this one where he had his own)

Bare in mind that the above three marketers are people who are extremely talented marketers whom I really respect a lot for what they have achieved. All are far bigger than me and make far more money than me also.

I have loads more that I could show you, but particularly wanted to show you these as they are recent and also show that even extremely successful marketers could achieve more if changed just a few things.

So, what does make a successful JV proposal?

1. If possible, either have had contact with the marketer before or be introduced from someone that does know the marketer. Not only do people do business with friends, but there also needs to be an element of trust that the launch will go smoothly and the commissions will be paid.

2. Think what is in it for the marketer. Generally money is not enough (to an extent). There are so many launches going on every day, that the choice to promote you just because of the potential commissions is probably not enough. Especially if you don’t have a large list or a reputation, Think what else you can offer:
eg.
- an extra bonus for the marketer’s list
- instant commissions
- a reduction in price
- a reciprocal mailing
- integration of the marketer’s product

3. Often, the reason why a marketer does not want to promote is that they will lose more by promoting for you than they will possibly gain. What may be beneficial for you, may not be beneficial for the other marketer. Some things that stop a marketer from promoting you product may be:
- a squeeze page before even arriving at the salespage
- a low price point
- a popup/exit popup
- a poor written or executed salespage
- too many backend/integrated offers

Any potential partner is or should be looking at the opportunity on what it will do for their business and if they are losing more than their possible gain then it is unlikely that they will promote for you.

4. Always make it as easy as possible for your potential partner to promote for you. People are naturally lazy and if you can provide an easy way for them to make some easy money then you may have a chance.

For example:
- always include a copy of the product immediately downloadable
- supply promotional materials
- explain the product and what it does in a few sentences
- say who else is promoting or has promoted and what results they have had
- provide a link to the salespages
- give an affiliate link to the marketer

5. Realize that time really is of an essence and many successful marketers know what they are doing months in advance in terms of promotions. It is extremely unlikely that they will push anything aside for you.

6. Perhaps the most important role is to see it from the other side when the marketer says “WIIFM?” (What’s in it for me?). Apart from affiliate X, none of the above three examples gave a WIIFM.

Before I go, let me just tell you about another annoyance that seems to have become more and more common nowadays. That is when people hold a sale and want me to launch it because they need to raise some money for _______________ (fill in the reason here).

The proposal is generally written with some guilt there describing the money that needs to be made.

So, why do I dislike these?

Firstly, because they almost always come from people who have never helped me out before but yet want me to help them. Secondly, in 99% of the cases, the product being sold is a jumbled together set of resell rights that which my customers would hate me for if I had the audacity to offer it to them. Thirdly, because I like to be able to choose where I spend my charitable donations and don’t like to be made to feel guilty in the process.

I personally think that this approach is a misguided version of ”reason why” marketing. By all means do a launch of a product because of a “reason why”. However, the correct approach is that you are doing it because of this or that reason and therefore are able to give a better offer than you usually would be able to.

Alright, rant pretty much over. Please feel free to heckle me below or tell me you agree with me or just say something amusing

But please do leave a comment saying something at least…

Keeping it real in an unreal world,

I’m not sure about you, but I am often very skeptical when a new product is launched that feels very similar to a previous one.

How many “How to use Adwords” products can you have?

Have you had your fill with SEO or traffic products?

Are you interested in purchasing another product connected with listbuilding or recruiting JV partners?

I realize that each may have some info in it that another doesn’t have, but unless you have actually put into action all of the tactics from a previous one, then it is doubtful that you actually need another.

———-
The Sequel
———-

In Hollywood, sequels are rarely successful even when the first film has been a blockbuster. Obviously there are exceptions to the rule such as Star Wars and Indiana Jones and more recently some of the action hero films, but that is generally the case.

In the internet marketing arena, the opposite seems to be true. Just in the last year, we have had:

Product Launch Formula 2
Traffic Secrets 2
Stompernet 2
Blogging to the bank 3
Clickbank domination 3
Affiliate Project X/Day Job Killer/Google Nemesis

and many others that have actually been built on the success of their previous release.

In fact, with the last example that I gave, each release has actually been more successful than the last!

I think that the difference from Hollywood is that these were more or less updates of the previous course and it is human nature to always want the latest gadget, gizmo or info.

—————–
Copycat Products
—————–

Here is a strange one. There have been some notable launches over the last couple of years which have been identical or nearly identical to other products.

I am hesitant to name and shame, but it is not unusual for a cheaper version of a product to hit the market within weeks of the premium version being launched.

One great example is that annoying script which you see when you try to shut down a salespage and you get a second chance to buy.

First came Save-A-Sale by intellichat where they were not selling it, but taking a proportion of sales saved.

Then David Guindon came out with Virtual Smart Agent which put the power into the merchants’ hands as they only had to pay once (excellent script which I often use)

And since then, many other versions have come out of the same script, mostly not as good, but fairly usable in many cases.

————
The Evergreen
————

The evergreen is something that you don’t see so often, but in my opinion you should see a lot more.

Especially in our industry, people are so obsessed with the new shiny object that many high quality products fall by the wayside.

I would love to see certain high quality products staying evergreen, but unfortunately that does not seem to be what the market is asking for.

Take Butterfly Marketing for example.

(As a disclaimer, I am not a user or a customer so don’t take this either as a positive or a negative about the actual product itself)

Here is a product which has made hundreds of people thousands of dollars. It has created many success stories.

Not only that, but it has been updated many times and had many new functions added on to it.

Not only that, but if you ever buy almost any of Mike Filsaime’s products then you will almost certainly have an opportunity to buy it as part of the backend.

So what’s my point?

What Mike Filsaime and his company has done is to create a product which doesn’t become outdated in either his or his customers’ minds. For that reason, it carries on selling and probably will for many years to come. As part of his 7 Figure Code presentation, he showed the percentage of his profits that come either from Butterfly Marketing or as a by-product and the figures were remarkable.

Do you have a product like this or that could be transformed to be like this?

————
The Relaunch
————

In my mind, the relaunch is very similar to the evergreen product, but with a slight twist. There is actually one happening today which I wanted to tell you about anyway, so will use it as an example.

Alok Jain is relaunching Project Quick Cash.

It is a collection of 5 underground money-making techniques that has made Alok and his customers a ton of money.

These techniques are quick and easy to implement, require zero or a very low investment and can be used to make easy Affiliate and/or Adsense income.

But let’s take a step back…

This product was launched about a year ago and sold thousands of copies. Part of its success was due to the fact that everything was explained in a detailed, step by step manner with screenshots where required.

The nature of the product made it appealing to newcomers and advanced marketers alike.

Last year, it was sold successfully at $77, which is quite a price but due to its hard proof still managed to sell well.

So, what Alok is doing is reducing the price by a whopping $50 and relaunching it.

So, why is he doing this and why is he assured of a success?

1. The value of $77 has already been established in the marketplace meaning that when people are paying just $27, they feel that they are getting more for their money than they are spending.

2. There are thousands of people entering the marketplace every day meaning that there are plenty of new potential customers. By relaunching, it means that PQC will gain a massive exposure to this marketplace.

3. Part of the previous success was the amount of proof that Alok was able to give not just from his own efforts but also of other marketers who are trusted in potential customers minds. For example, both Jonathan Leger and Dr Mani did case studies showing how they were able to generate traffic and revenue very fast as a result of Project Quick Cash. On the relaunch, there is even more proof as previous customers are also able to show their successes. Also not the updated screenshots.

4. Following on from 3, it has been proven that his methods work both by previous customers and also by himself and his friends. One of the strongest displays of proof are when someone else says it.

5. The fact that it is relaunching is almost proof in itself of the solidity of a products. For example, did you ever hear of Pipeline Profits or hundred of other dud products that disappeared because they were full of false promises?

Anyway, I thought that it would be interesting to look at a few different methods of creating and selling products. I am sure that I have missed something vital out in my overview, so do feel free to comment below if you have any other ideas.

So what do I want from you?

1. If Alok’s product does sound interesting, or you want to see how he has put the process into place, then go to:

http://www.clarifywithben.com/recommends/pqc

2. Please leave me a comment below with your views, the more controversial or outspoken the better, especially if I don’t have to edit it so that I am not sued for libel…

3. If you have a blog or a related website, please can you choose a post from this blog and give a link to it.

I was going through the results of the survey that I took of my Cool Cash Ezine readers a few months ago and I was surprised by the number of comments from readers writing about how much they hate Internet marketing gurus.

I do agree that valuable content coming from the big IM gurus in their emails has dropped drastically over the last few years.

Now, it seems that it is a non-stop pitch fest of one product launch to the next by the top dogs in almost all their emails these days.

But is that really why you hate IM gurus?

Is it because they talk about how much absurd money they make every month that ticks you off?

Is it because they seem to be a close knit group that promotes the hell out of each other’s stuff?

I started drilling the survey results closely and noticed that the negative comments were coming from the readers who indicated that they were making less than $1,000 per year from their online activities.

So my question really is, do you hate IM gurus because they are successful and you are not?

This can be a *natural* reaction for people who have struggled to make money online for years.

Seriously.

With the economy in a tailspin worldwide, people will continue to get more frustrated with their financial situation if it is not very good.

People in the USA are actually chaining themselves to their houses that are being foreclosed on.

Looks like we are in for desperate times.

I agree that there are a lot of slimy Internet marketers online who promise the moon only to deliver dust.

If you are in a situation where you are struggling to make money online, you need to channel your negativity into more productive activities.

Productive activities that make you money.

What I am about to reveal to you is what I believe is the main factor to making an incredible amount of money online.

In my humble opinion, I believe that it all comes down to keywords.

Keywords are the foundation to natural SEO, pay per click, contextual traffic, articles marketing and wide array of other different marketing strategies. All of these methods of making money begin with keyword research.

Think about it.

Everyday, billions of searches are performed on various search engines such as Google, Yahoo and MSN. Every search query starts with a keyword or keyphrase.

If you don’t know how or don’t have the tools to do keyword research, you are doomed to mediocre results.

Below I present to you a rolodex of keyword research tools to help you get started in the right direction.

Some are free while others are paid services. You can decide which ones are best suited for you.

*** Keyword Rolodex ***
Google Keyword Tool (Free)

https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal

This is the best FREE keyword research tool on the Internet. What better place to go for keyword data than the most searched upon search engine on the planet. A few months back, Google also started to include search volumes for their keyword research tool. This is my number one keyword research tool because it is fast and Google provides you with a wealth of keyword information.

KeywordSpy.com ($89.95 a month)
http://www.keywordspy.com
KeywordSpy is expensive at $89.95 per month, but is one of the few web sites that allows you to download almost every single keyword that your competitors are bidding on. They also take it one step further by giving you details on the specific ad that your competitor is running for each particular keyword. Talk about getting your hands on sensitive information! The only thing that I don’t like is that they have a limit of only allowing you to exporting 50,000 keywords per day.

Good Keywords (Free and Paid version)
http://www.goodkeywords.com
This tool also includes a misspelled keyword feature, which is great considering almost 10% of search queries are misspelled. The free version has key features such as a keyword organizer, site popularity gauge and a user-friendly keyword research interface.

Traffic Travis (Free and Paid Version)
http://www.traffictravis.com
This tool is WAY more than a keyword research tool and the free version does almost everything the paid version does. In fact, I can’t believe how much they give away in the free version. This is a *MUST* download and I am sure you will be thanking me for pointing you to this free resource.

SEO Book Keyword Suggestion Tool (Free)
http://tools.seobook.com/keyword-tools/seobook/
From the creators of SEOBook comes a free keyword research tool that supplies you with an incredible amount of free information by tapping into free resources such as Google insights

KeywordDiscovery.com ($49.95 per month)
http://www.keyworddiscovery.com
I have never used this keyword research tool, so I can’t really comment. I did however find a review on the Internet that gives a good amount of information on Keyword Discovery. Just go to:

http://www.keywordworkshop.com/articles/17/1/Keyword-Discovery-Full-Review

WordPot.com (Free and Paid Version)
http://www.wordpot.com
This is a great keyword research tool that gives you related search terms with their daily estimated search volumes. This keyword research tool also provides you with synonyms and associated keywords for the keyword that you want to generate a list for.

Wordtracker.com (Free and Paid Version)
http://www.wordtracker.com
Wordtracker is probably one of the oldest keyword research tools around. I think it is fairly decent for keyword research, but I find that some of the keywords generated are not very relevant to the search term as the list grows larger.

KeywordElite.com ($174 one-time cost)
http://www.keywordelite.com
Keyword Elite is probably the undisputed champion of keyword research tools and is the brain-child of IM marketer Brad Callen. The tool is actually 5 tools in one with advanced features such as analyzing and spying on Adwords competition. It is a bit pricey at $174, but this is a one-time fee for this software tool.

KWBrowse.com (Free)
http://www.kwbrowse.com
I love this free keyword research tool because it actually supplies you with keywords from *lateral* markets that may be related to what you are promoting. This is important because people in related markets may also be interested in what you are promoting or selling.

SpyFu.com (Free and Paid version)
http://www.spyfu.com
SpyFu is another one of those “steal your competitor’s” keyword tools. With a wealth of information on millions of keywords, you can easily find the keywords from your organic and paid competitors and start adding them to your arsenal of traffic generating keywords. They have a limited free version with an option to upgrade for full membership at about $279 annually.

WordButler (Free trial then $19.95/month)
http://www.wordbutler.com
I know the guys behind Word Butler and they are very smart. This keyword tool uses their unique HCE (Human Cognition Emulator) algorithm, which simply means you get as many related keyword groups in a niche as possible. The speed of the program is great and you can quickly export the targeted keywords to your clipboard or to a text file.

KeywordExtend.com (Free)
http://www.keywordextend.com
Keyword Extend is not a keyword research tool, but rather a tool that can help you quickly generate the different Adwords variations such as broad, phrases and exact match. Additional features include reversing words, creating keyword lists with permutations, removing duplicate keywords and many others. This tools is free for you to use and can help you save hours of precious time.

AdCenter Labs (Free)
http://adlab.msn.com/
This is a great resource provided by MSN. It is more than just a keyword research tool. This tool will help you *understand* your market. You really need to spend some time at this web site to understand the power of this free resource.

Hope this helps as far as keyword research is concerned. I will continue to send you more rolodexes containing great online marketing resources.

Cheers!

I really did catch a lot of grief from my blog post the other day at:

http://www.shmoozewithben.com/dreams/stop-chasing-the-dream

but I can handle that.

What did cause my blood to boil though was the negativity that I felt in the comments.

There was an overwhelming feeling that people have been screwed time and time again both emotionally and financially. That really upset me. You see, I don’t think that the people who made those comments are naive. What I think the problem is, is that everyone needs a direction to follow and it is difficult to know who to follow.

I have been in this business for quite a few years now, so have been able to sort out the chaff from the barley.

We are all in the business to make money, and I don’t see anything wrong with that, but what I also like to see are people with truth, honesty and integrity.

I thought that what I would do in this post is tell you about a few people in IM that I admire and why. There are many more, but let’s save those for another day.

(In no particular order)

1. John Delevera

John and I have been doing some stuff together for the last couple of years. Although I wouldn’t say that we are friends, he is someone that I have admired from a distance.

Firstly because of the integrity that he shows.

Secondly because he has developed a recognised brand.

Thirdly and perhaps most importantly because he has a large band of followers that devour everything that he puts out and the case-studies that he has created are remarkable.

The fact that he does have a large band of followers shows me that he is definitely worth following and is highly worth getting in with.

You can see his latest product at:

http://www.clarifywithben.com/recommends/santa

Not only do I advise that you buy it because it is an incredibly valuable product, but also so that you can enter his mindset and discover the Deleverian method of doing things.

2. Jason Fladien

You probably haven’t heard of him, but he is a newer internet marketer who is starting to produce some incredible products about mindset and productivity. A few posts back, I gave you a link to a free ebook which he published which is worth more in my opinion that many premium priced products.

You can download that ebook at:

http://www.shmoozewithben.com/downloads/trustfactor.zip

3. John Jonas

You may not have heard of John either, although he has certainly been around the block. In my opinion, he talks sense and has helped me in mindset and also practical ways.

You can read his blog at:

http://www.jonasblog.com/

Well, there’s three and as three is extremely topical this week I’ll stop there.

However, what I am interested in, is who is your favorite internet marketer and why. Also interested in your least favorite, but some of those comments may have to be moderated
